Say what you want about the .40, I like it, shoot it well and carry it. My go to carry is my Glock 23.

The only benefit of .40 is that when the panic hits, you might find ammo for it.

I just did a modification on my CCW permit, getting rid of my .380 and 9 mm, and replacing them with .40 and .45. A .40 SIG P239 is now my primary carry. When number of rounds available is limited, bigger is better. Learn to control the gun, and all your problems with .40 will go away.

I think it's the ideal gun for IWB CCW.

I didn't like them at first but now I kinda want one.. or a 229. Definetly want a Sig next though.

Too many are scared of it, they think kicks to hard. Limp wristers.

They didn't say it kicks hard, they say it's "snappy"!

I guess some don't like "snappy"

Why is 40 considered an "in-between" round?

2nd week of owning my first gun, the Glock 22. And as the OP, I did choose 40 since I understood it to be the middle ground.

As per another thread, I described that even after 3 indoor range days with the G22, I get to get tighter and precise groups the FIRST time with a rental 9mm XD9 and PX4. Would I be going to a 9mm? Yeah, I may - if, say would like to compete amateur in the GSSF or something...

But I'll probably stick with the G22 and further develop my technique. At least for now, seeing the 40 as a "teaching caliber." *My few cents' worth*

                          I love my PX4 40.
Wish I could make it a 357 sig though.

Not at all. Just saying, some think the .40 is just too "snappy"

                            FYI! I only have .40s and .45s.

The 9mm is not "snappy" enough. I think that's the right term.

I just ran "it's too snappy" through my Google Translation app. It came out as "I can't control the recoil."
