Need you help with my Kimber

So I'm your basic newbie shooter and I picked up a Kimber Ultra Carry ii. I've shot it several times and love it. I ordered some VZ grips from another Calgunner but they didn't come with the screws. Tonight I removed my old grips and realized the screws don't come out of the grip itself and they seem permanently installed with some type of bushing. I looked online and there seems to be screws with bushing and those without. Honestly I have no idea what I need. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I don't think the bushing should come out with the screw.. If you can't get them apart just by new screws and bushings??

The bushing should not have come loose while removing the screw.

Here's one way to do it:

1) Put Loctite on the bushing and install back
2) Wait for it to dry
3) Loosen (again) the grip screw

The Loctite should keep the bushing in place and you should be able to remove the grip screw.

Another way to do it is this:

1) Use a vice grip on the bushing
2) Place the grip between your legs
3) Loosen the grip screw

This may damage the bushing. If so, you may need to buy a new one to replace it. When replacing it, make sure to use Loctite to secure it in place.
