X-Grip Quesion

Does anyone here that has experience using X-Grip on their guns? Is it ok to grip it down there being that is part of the magazine? Will it cause malfunctions if I do? It seems like it's mainly for aesthetics to fill that void between the magwell and the base plate of the magazine. Thanks for your input

I've used one on my Glock 27 for about 6 months and am very happy with it. I've never had any reliability issues due to the fact that you are gripping the X-Grip in line with the standard grip and there isn't any real way to shift the magazine enough to induce a malfunction. According to their website X-Grips are shipped with some S&W, HK, and Sig Sauer pistols as factory equipment.

I'd say they are good to go.

I have an H&K P2000SK, and I have an X-Grip on it so that I can use P2000/USP Compact magazines. No malfunctions whatsoever when using it. I enjoy the full grip that it gives me on the P2000SK. YMMV.

I've used them. Had some on a glock 19 and on a P320 compact. They are fine, no issues. Sometimes it would ride up the magazine when I would eject the mag. Guess if I really needed to, I could glue it to the magazine.

Cool. Didn't know they were "OE" on some guns. My only concern was that I may shift the magazine by gripping it & inducing malfunctions being that it slips over the magazine body.

I have a few for my M&P9C to use my FS mags. At the time, I couldn't find any spare compact mags and already had a FS and a bunch of spare mags.

Given they're both 10 rounds, there's no real advantage other than having a fuller grip. I have since added the pinky extension base to all my compact mags (thank you S&W) so I don't really use them anymore.

Oh, in case anyone is curious. The mag body on the compact is the same on the full size (10 rounder that is). I got a few extra bases from S&W and even "converted" a couple of FS mags to Compacts.

Springfield XDs also includes them or something very much like them with their extended mags. They come in two sizes to match the different size backstraps you can use on the gun.



Beretta Nano and also Ruger LC9 uses the same type of concept on their extended mags - the mag becomes part of the user grip area, and there are no problems.

Some 2-finger grip guns could use the extra ammo capacity, it isn't strictly a matter of needing more grip or having a low grip hold. But when you do use the extra capacity mag, the grip is much more consistent with the mag sleeve in place than not on these small pistols.

^ Tried them (on xd's) and its just fine as well. - they work as long as you get a good grip like what Hopeton mentioned.
