Beretta 92FS Upgrades?

Has anyone purchased a Beretta & upgraded the pistol to make it shoot better?

Thought about getting one & what parts should I purchase for the pistol?
Never understood this negativity of the Beretta like inaccuracies & unreliable. Well everyone has opinions or they can't shoot it. While I like P226, I had interest in the Beretta not because of Die Hard or standard sidearm for military/police (depending on department) just like the look of the gun.

I have an M9A1, which is similar to the 92FS. The only mod I had done was a trigger job to slightly lessen the pull. It is my favorite gun.

The 92FS is an out the box sweet shooter like the P226 but if you insist, Wilson Combat has plenty of upgrades.

Also upgrade yourself through training and practice.

Very common mod is the 'D' spring to lighten the trigger pull. I myself actually went with the 13lb spring ('D' spring is 16lb, I believe). Many online sources say you might get light strikes from the 'competition' spring I have installed, but I have not seen that problem. Made the double action pull wayyyy less. Single action is less too and way smoother.

$5 spring made this gun one of my favorites to shoot.

D-spring is all you need.

Alternatively, I went with a Wilson Combat Chrome Silicon 14lb spring.

The pistol doesn't need anything else. Of course, there are plenty of "upgrades" available for you to spend money on, if you choose. Stuff like steel guide rods, grips, etc. You don't need any of it, but it won't hurt anything to do the upgrades (except your wallet).

I upgraded my 92FS Inox with Beretta's steel rod and gold guide rod spring, and started having FTF and FTE problems with weaker ammo. Something to keep in mind if you do decide to upgrade to a steel rod and the gold spring.

Heard a lot of CZ 75 but don't like slide because it's too small for me. Though the accuracy, DA/SA, & other stuff.

Functional improvements:
D spring to lighten the trigger pull weight.
Wilson Combat short reach trigger if your finger finds the DA distance a bit long.
Extended magazine release.

That's it for what I've done for functional reasons (I do have an M9 waiting for a G conversion at Wilson Combat, though).

All i did was swap to a Wilson Combat steel guide rod, necessary? Probably not. Then training...Shot super accurate out of the box, I love mine.

I have a 92FS that was already upgraded (when I bought it PPT) with the SS guide rod, D spring trigger job, and nicer grips. I can only compare it with the "stock" M9s I was issued by the Army on deployments overseas, but it is very nice to shoot...very similar to my Sig P226 Elite. Someday, I'll swap the original parts back in to get a better comparison, but I can't imagine that I wouldn't put the upgrades back in place afterward.

That's what I thought but my complain of the Beretta is the double action pull of the trigger. I planned after purchasing the pistol I'll be sure to get these upgrades.

I mainly replaced most of the polymer coated parts with steel Wilson Combat parts because I enjoy tinkering and like to really understand the parts of a pistol. The thin grips was the most effective upgrade as it really reduced the thick grip for my small hands and I loved the Beretta's accuracy before but now REALLY love it because it is now very comfortable. Extremely accurate pistol.

I agree. The d spring is all that is needed. If you have small hands though, these suggestions are great to improve the ergos/your ability to be proficient. Maybe even throw some slim grips on there too.

I put the elite hammer in mine as well and I think for around $30 you can't go wrong. I noticed only a slight improvement, but it was there. Plus it looks cool. That's all that matters.
