Glock SS guide rods for G26

I am trying to get a feel of how other feel about installing any Stainless Steel guide rod into a G26 but most of all other of the pro and con of this action. I am looking to see which one is most liked and the other end of the spectrum most disliked and why on both accounts.
I was thinking Lone Wolf but something is holding me back from going forward on this particular one.
I would like to see what others have done and their results. This WILL be in a LTC firearm..

If you are going to do it, go all the way and get Tungstun. It's heavier still .
I got my three from Glockmeister with factory weight springs.

After a year or so of shooting, I had 1 threaded cap pop off (G21SF) . I took it apart and found it had not been Loctited.
I then disassembled the other 2 and found blue Loctite on both, the G35 was loose, the G26 was tight. I redid them all using Loctite red.

Do they help? I dunno. But my buddy who used to be a nationally ranked 3 gun and comp shooter used them when legal and still does in his practice guns.

Your Glock isn't broke, so don't fix it. I'd like to hear what you think this "upgrade" will do for you as the shooter?

For CC...keep it stock... maybe replace the plastic sight.

Not a G26, but I have the Brass Stacker RSA in my G30SF. Well made and still going strong. I heard about their products on the Sootch00 youtube channel.

That said, countless people have the Lone Wolf setup. I can't say you'd go wrong with it unless there some glaring issue I am unaware of. May also consider leaving it factory fresh for a carry gun and getting spares. Do any departments install stainless guide rods in the duty guns?

I bought a Glock 26 off a calgunner and he installed a SS guide roud and trijicons.. Out of the two upgrades, the trijicons are worth it, the SS guiderod does absolutely nothing.
Get the trijicons.
Disregard the SS guiderod.

Why would it matter if it was for conceal carry or not?

If you ever had to use it in a self defense situation a prosecutor would try to use any internal modifications against you. That would be my guess.

I call bs on that though. The guiderod isn't like getting the AR dust cover that says F*** You!!!! On it or anything.
I think it's a good upgrade to get once your plastic guiderod fails but other than that, pointless.

That would never happen. As previously discussed many times in this forum modifications to firearms are not factually relevant to the justification of the use of deadly force.

If there is any question at all about the affect on reliability, I would skip it.

Although many have concerns about internal mods being a pain point to a prosecutor, regardless of how big or small the mod might be.

I use a steel guide rod on my G34s, largely because I need a different spring weight anyway, but I keep all the subcompacts stock (G26/G30). I just don't see the point frankly - even the Gen 3s have the fancy double spring recoil system and it works very well in those guns.

Lol I didn't know about the double springs when i bought my G26, i thought i duped a calgunner out of a gen 4 g26 for $500 hehe..
But nope..

If it was a reliability problem then the mod shouldn't be done at all regardless of the purpose of the pistol.

I don't necessarily worry about prosecution for having a steel guide rod installed, but some people might.

I was just answering the first question you posed. If this were a pure range toy, and a spring swap made shooting more enjoyable but presented potential questionable reliability, it's probably not a huge deal. The example in mind is maybe someone wants a lighter double action pull on their revolver, they accept the lighter pull at a cost of an occasional light primer strike
