Do you want all the options present in the TRP package? It's a pretty nice setup if you do.

On top of what Hope said, I would definitely spring for the trigger job too.

        +1 for the 25LPI.

Eventually I'll get around to sending my 9609L in to SACS for front checkering, undercut trigger guard, and refinish of the OD Armory Kote.

Please keep us apprised of timeline once you send in ... and

What ever you end up doing they will do a great job.

What exactly is the EZ in/out mod?

It's a 5 minute mod that anyone with a needle file can do. It involves filing a very small groove on the back of the slide lock where it contacts the safety plunger. It allows the slide lock to slide in easily so that you don't get the dreaded "idiot scratch".

I'd call them, maybe they'll allow you to increase the lpi checkering for an incremental price..plus you'ld probably get to keep some of your original parts for spares/future builds etc.

Here is photographic evidence of what Chapped Hide was referring to.

This is a modification I do on just about all slide stops as it allows easy installation and doesn't affect function. It is easily done with a needle file. To install, the slide stop is positioned directly on top of the plunger and you can feel it saddle over it and push it straight in. Bingo...

Oh, I know and I wasn't taking a jab at you, just saying that it's not difficult to do if you want to do it yourself. Totally agree, to a "T" with the rest of your suggestions! Plus, I'd add the 1 piece S&A magwell too. In regards to the FSC, machine is the way to go and even Alchemy has stated that SA's machine checkering is a bargain for what you get. No reason to pay the extra cash for hand checkering.

IIRC machine checkering is a lot sharper than hand checking. Compared my PRO to a friend's TRP, both have 20lpi and the TRP is definitely sharper. Something to consider if you aren't a fan of sharper checkering.

Definitely true but if OP is going with 25 LPI I think the difference in sharpness will be less pronounced.

I currently have grip tape on the front strap, which make the gun look tacky. Thats why I started this thread, to get different ideas, this gun wont be a carry or my main gun I take to the range.
