Put a CBOB in your hand and you'll never let go.

Have both USP and CBOB. CBOB hands down. 100% reliable on CBOB. HK had a trigger prob req repair. Have the PM7 too. Awesome

I can help. Just buy both and eliminate your dilemma.

            Your welcome.

You should own both, but if you are only going to own 1 get the CBOB

While the DW Cbob is an awesome 1911, I own a '09 model, I myself could not justify the $1700 price tag they want for a new one! I would add a few hundred and get a Les Baer.

I have no experience with the HK.

Get the HK first, you already know it meets your needs. I feel like the DW has a little more finesse, but may not be as reliable. Function first if it's for defense.

Thanks, everyone, for your input so far. I am still leaning towards the CBOB, and it is coming out well ahead in the poll.

I like the Glock 30SF, but why do you say that it is a better gun than a CBOB? The CBOB, to me, has much better ergonomics, and also has a far superior trigger. While I get good groups with my G30, the CBOB is likely just as accurate, perhaps even more. I do like the lower bore axis of the G30, though.

As far as reliability goes, my G30 was jamming the other day. i think the problem was with one magazine. But the magazine is lightly used, so I doubt it was a worn spring issue. The follower looked normal, too. I ordered a new follower and Wolff extra-power mag spring, so hopefully that will solve the issue, assuming it was a mag issue.

I was thinking of a Les Baer, too, but I really want a Commander, and Baer does not have any on the roster.

Off-roster, and I have not heard good things about the trigger. At least with the USP, I can order a match trigger.

Thanks again, everyone. I went with the CBOB, and drosed it today.

I bought DW cbob back in 2013. The gun did not work. It had numerous malfunctions even after "break in period" (used WC magazines, CM magazines, and factory magazines). It went back to Dan Wesson (CZ USA) warranty repair shop 2x times and still did not work. Failure to feed and stoves pipes...May be mine was a lemon but it was absolute garbage. DW customer rep (forgot his name...somewhere in my email archive back in 2013) told me the gun is working fine. BS. It did not work. Spent $1500 dollars (for the gun) + over 700 rounds of 45 ACP (for "break in period") + magazines fee (total around 2000 dollars) and it was complete trash. I sold that gun quickly and got other pistols that are reliable and do not need "break in period" BS. I personally never had any trouble with Berettas, M&Ps, and Glocks and I am glad I sold that shiny pretty piece of ****. So I voted HK 45.

By the way, I sold that POS for 900 dollars because I want the buyer to know full details. I told him it went back to store 2 times and it is still not reliable and I would not use it as a home defense gun. Full disclosure. I would not lie about details about gun for some money especially when somebody is going to use that gun to defend his/her life.
