    Unexplainable damage

Check this out, come one, come all. See if you can diagnose this damage to my frame because I can't. I thought maybe it was from the slide catch, but the slide catch doesn't come close. Then I considered the magazine may be the culprit, but no. Again, it doesn't make contact.
I figure most people will go the ammo route, only thing fired through this is factory ammo. No hot loads. Something I just considered, I let my cousin disassemble/reassemble my gun last weekend so he could learn how to do it. Under my supervision, could have happened then but I don't think so. I would have noticed.

Something else to add is I have been doing one handed manipulations due to being in a sling. I rack off the heel of my shoe, and the slide doesn't always lock open on a empty mag(probably just riding it). So I rack it open, doubt this is the reason. Just trying to be thorough.

I first noticed it while looking through the pistol with the slide locked and no magazine inserted, like this.

Shot in the dark. Insert an empty mag and see if you can push the follower into that part of the frame? Try a few different mags.

I once fired a 40s&w in my G29 with no magazine, and forgot to put the factory spring in, which I usually do. The round fired and then the slide closed as the empty case started to fall in the magwell. the case mouth made a cut in the frame that looks just like that.
Don't know if that helps or if something similiar may have happened to you.

Sell it and get a 1911! Then you won't have to worry about chipping a plastic frame.

Funny, the one thing I didn't even consider. I've had cases fall out the empty magwell when firing with no magazine. Could be it.

Defiantly a + to a all steel gun, can't argue that. This little nick is superficial though and doesn't effect the pistol.

Not related to your concern, just curious. Is the ejector bent or is it supposed to be like that? (I know nothing about Glock)

The 9mm ejector has a bend.

How many rounds did you shoot through it? It look extra dirty in the mag well.

Pull the trigger on an empty chamber, lock slide to rear, you too can have a firing pin protruding.

By any chance you had a failure to extract leaving the empty case in the chamber subsequently releasing the mag. When you rack the slide to clear the empty case did not eject or fall but ended ramming its mouth onto that area. Just a theory.
