HK P30L vs Vp9/40 and HK45 vs HK USP .45

I'm trying to figure which of these I should get. I personally love HK weapons but don't want to have some many guns at the sametime. So I am torn from the hk p30l and a VP9/40. I have only messed up with a VP40 I love the feel of that pistol. Never tried a p30 but it just awesome and hoping it feels good like VP9/40 since they are so alike.

And also the USP. 45 full size and the newer HK45 just torn. Can you guys help me decide?

Are you an LEO, live outside of California, or willing to pay through the nose? If not, your only option is the USP.

P30's have a similar feel, some might say a little better grip than the VP9.. CalAlumnus is right in California you can only get second hand used ones and prices are high. Supply and demand. The USP'S are also great guns but a little older model. Check out the P2000 series they are good as well. As far as you original question the it depends if you want a Striker fired pistol (VP9) vs hammer P30. The VP9 has one of the best striker fired triggers. The USP series has a better trigger and you can get an nice factory HK match trigger for the US pistols. Good Luck. It's an addiction. I started with one and now have 5 HK'S and on Glock (34)

In California there are more VP9 available about $1000-$1250. I have and like the P30L but I also like hammer pistols a little more.

VP9, all the ergo of the p30 but its striker fired and has the best stock trigger of any HK imo. Expect to pay $1100 give or take LNIB

I have the VP9, HK45, USP45 and p30SK and the VP9 is my fave of the bunch.

For striker fire cant go wrong with VP9....

Do you want 9 or 45? Do you value ergonomics? Depends on what you want to use it for.

I have the VP9, HK45 and P2000 (.40).... I also have a few Glocks... By far my VP has become my favorite gun. To explain how much I love my VP, I also own a 226 Legion, my VP gets way more use that the Legion!!!!

HK P30L vs Vp9/40 and HK45 vs HK USP .45

Are you picky with trigger? If yes, get the VP9/40 only.

If no, are you picky with ergonomic? If yes, do not get the USP.

                  If no, buy all.

I'd skip the P30L and get a regular P30, I swear the heavy slide was cycling in slow motion for a 9mm.
                    I'd like to try a P30 LEM V1 9mm next time.
My opinions are my own and do not represent the position of other companies I may be involved with.

Unfortunately didn't get around to taking a look at the P30L but while there is a difference in recoil between a P30 and striker guns, I'm not sure the difference matters too much.

I've got the P30LS and I don't remember that happening. What kind of ammo were you using?

I had all the ones you mentioned but sold my USP45 & kept the HK45. Reason was because the HK45 felt more comfortable vs. The blocky USP45 grip as I have small hands. Both were very accurate but the HK45 was a tad bit more accurate probably because I was able to grip the HK45 better. If my hands were bigger to be able to grip the USP45 better, I wouldn't be able to let go of it that easily.

I sold my P30L .40 but kept my P30LS 9mm & still have my VP9. Got rid of the P30L because it was fairly easy to engage the slide stop even with the slightest touch preventing the slide from locking after last round. It was far too difficult to adjust my grip to prevent engaging the slide stop so it had to go. No problem with the P30LS (safety helps prevent engaging slide stop) and VP9. Both are very accurate and excellent pistols. Tough choice between these two, but I like the P30LS better. The VP9 has a better trigger but I think the longer sight radius on the P30LS helped beat the VP9 in accuracy if you stick to the trigger fundamentals. If you prefer better triggers, go with VP9. If you know your trigger fundamentals and execute them well, go with P30LS but I say stay away from the P30L because of the ease of engaging the slide stop. The shortened slide stop helped but I still accidentally engaged the slide stop..

The shortened slide stops on the P30S/LS guns also work on the P30/L guns.

If you can't purchase off-roster, I would get the P30. It would not cost much more than a VP9 does in the marketplace.

If you can purchase off-roster, then I'd get the VP9 ($550), because it's a better value than the P30 ($900).

                              If you can't purchase off-roster, I'd get the USP 45 ($900), because it's a better value than the HK45 ($1500).

If you can purchase off-roster, I'd get the HK45, because I like the improvements it makes over the USP 45.
