Hello fellow Calgunners. I've never owned a pistol but I am in the market for one. I was thinking about starting with a lightly used one possibly from the WTS ads here are Calguns. I was wondering if i still need a HSC to be able to do a PPT. What is entailed in a PPT? Fees? Wait times? Procedure? Any info would be much appreciated.

Yes you will need an HSC. PPT will be between $30-$35. 10 day wait. Both parties meet to do the paperwork FTF. You will also need a utility bill to prove residence, and you will need to purchase an approved handgun lock.

you can also use a vehicle registration that is in your name and current address for proof of residency.Comment

It used to be. Due to BATFE's failure to do its job, it currently is not.
