I really like my Ruger Super model Blackhawk .44 with 4 5/8 bbl. It is a lot of fun to shoot. I also really like it b/c I bought it with my winnings at Hawaiin Gardens Playing poker

I have a 30 Carbine, 7 1/2" bbl and it's a fun gun. I have noticed that Ruger single actions have a very reasonable 2nd hand price - I paid $325.00 for mine last year and it's like new with the box. Noticed quite a few other Ruger SAs (including Super Black hawk & Vaquero) in the $325.00 to $399.00 range in great shape.

I have one with a 6 1/2" barrel in .357 mag from the early '80s and it's probably my favorite gun.

I just got a Blackhawk convertible .357/9mm. The only thing I changed was to put fatter grips on it (I have big hands). There's almost no recoil with 38Spl loads, and very manageable recoil with .357 loads. I was surprised that the 9mm loads were pretty snappy out of the thing. Very fun to shoot, and with the single action, your ammo lasts longer since it's harder to load.

I have a 6" NM .357 Blackhawk, bought used at a bargain price, and it's a great shooter - my second favorite revolver after my 6" 586-2. I did the poor boy trigger job on it.

I consider them to be the best value there is in a .357 revolver.

I have the 50th Anniversary New Model blackhawk "Flattop" in 357.

It's on the smaller frame similar to the New Vaqeuro (and not the regular Blackhawk or older Vaquero) and is approx same size as Colt SAA.

I love it. Reliable, accurate, balances nicely....

My first gun purchase ever was a Stainless New Model Blackhawk in .357mag way back in 1981. I loved shooting it then and even more now. I have purchased many guns since and love them all but I always go back to shooting the Blackhawk and remember all over again how much fun it is to shoot. Its the most consistent gun for me that I own. Dead simple and reliable and accurate.

Lots of great replies, thanks alot!
I saw a used one for $350 with the 6 1/2 barrel, but wasn't overly interested at the time. I think i'll check out the condition tomorrow.

I have a 7-1/2" .45 ACP/.45 Colt NM Blackhawk convertible. Great gun. Had action job done - real smooth now. Would definitely like a .357 mag/9mm convertible too. It's hard to beat being able to shoot .357 magnum, 9mm and .38 special with one gun. The NM Blackhawks, no matter what caliber, are pretty cheap on the used market.

I own them in 357, 357 with 9mm cylinder, 30 carbine, 44mag, 45LC, 45LC with 45ACP cylinder, 41 mag and 357 maxium. I collect the old models also. I'm still looking for 32mag with 32ACP cylinder (pretty rare) and the holy grail 38/40 with 10mm cylinder and a Hawkeye single shot of course... Coulda shoulda woulda...

I do prefer to have a power custom half cock kit and spring kit installed for easier loading.

I love these guns. But I'm sure you couldn't guess

They are utterly reliable, very acurate (even more so with some very basic service by a good smith) and will most likely not only last you lifetime but your kids and grandkids lifetimes also.

I have a 5 1/2" stainless new model Super Blackhawk .44mag and I absolutely love the gun. Very accurate and one of the best factory triggers I have ever had the pleasure to squeeze. The only thing I had added was an orange insert in the front sight.

My first handgun in 1976 - a .357. Bought it at the Ft. Richardson, AK PX. I haven't shot it in a long time, but I used to get some tight groups out if it. It was my only handgun for many years, and I would never sell or trade it.

Well, i just bought it. New Model Blackhawk with the blued finish, in.357 with the 9mm conv cylinder. The 9mm cylinder is not marked with the cal. i guess you just drop a round in to see which one fits? *shrugs* Have the 10 day wait now, time to get some replacement grips for the stock wood ones.
