Dan Wesson PM-7

CZ USA web site says they were discontinued back in 2010, and yet the Beale AFB BX has gotten 2 in within the last 12mos, 1 currently priced at 1545 (no tax). Are they in fact discontinued and this one is just old distributor stock? But of course that doesn't add up because I wouldn't expect CZ/DW to continue to pay the the CA extortion fee to keep it on roster if they did in fact quit making it.

They are still making the PM-7 and the CBOB too. Those are the only 2 on the CA DOJ roster. I looked at both with 2015 serial numbers and ended up with the CBOB. It may be my favorite 1911.

DW/CZ still makes the PM-7 pistols. Whether DW/CZ makes them just for CA or the website is wrong/missing information, I do not know.

Coyote Point Armory in Burlingame has the PM-7 and the CBOB in stock.

The information I have is that Dan Wesson makes a limited run of the CBOB and the PM-7 only for the California market. As such, they don't list it on their web site. The real world has to settle for other models such as the VBOB. Face it, they don't need to advertise the two models in California, they show up and they are gone from the shelf in a blink of an eye.

Reading the new cz product catalog they say that they've brought back the cbob into regular production because of so much demand. Cz/Dan Wesson will still produce small runs of the pm7 and cz 97b for the California market.

PM-7 is pretty much for CA only now. DW has more newer models on sale nationwide, but it's probably cheaper for them to keep the PM-7 selling here than paying the CA ransom to roster a new pistol. CA is THE largest gun market in the nation. So DW is making a decent profit keeping the model alive just for CA. It's like Glock's decision to keep the Gen 3's around. The Gen 3 is a strong seller in CA. Why roster a Gen 4 if you can sell out every Gen 3 you send to CA? Strategic Sales 101 fellas.

And $1,359 is a rockin' price for CA right now.

I'm in California, picked up a PM7 in 2015. Great pistol, it lives up to its reputation... I would plan on buying other models if they were available... Maybe a CBOB this year, but that would be it...

I believe CZ/DW has to pay the extortion fee every year just to keep it on roster as does every other gun maker for every model they wish to sell here. Furthermore they can't get a new model or existing free state model on roster because of the micro stamping requirement not money.

CZ actually do have PM 7 on their list http://cz-usa.com/product/dw-pointma...ont-9-rd-mags/. SKU 01900. I am not sure if it is only for California.
Yesterday I score PM7 factory blemished for $1253 (negotiation of 3.5% included). Paper from factory describe blemish as "slide sides overpolished", which I try to look very closely and couldn't find anything wrong. I guess it just doesn't pass their QC by 0.00099% or something like that. I looked 2 out 3 blemished they have and both have the same description and they are sequential serial numbers.
