Does any one know where to purchase Federal Hydroshok in CA? I heard once ( from a very poor source of information ), that it may be banned in CA. It this true? I'm looking for Federal Premium Hydroshok P45HS1.

It's okay ammo from my clouded memory. I haven't bought any in a few years, but I do remmeber liking the Winchester Ranger / SXT ammo better in my Glock.
Not sure where to get it here, maybe call Federal and ask for a stocking dealer in your area?
A quick search turned up these guys in AZ if you want to order some, but not sure if that price is competitive, I haven't bought pistol ammo since I started reloading.

I thought they renamed Hydroshok to "Personal Defense" ammo. I just bought a box of 20 from Midway in 38 Special and looks identical to the old stuff.

Forget Hydrashok. Ranger is good stuff (although I think the powder is a bit dirty) and much cheaper. Federal's HST is good, too.Comment
