The Scorpion is a no via SSE but she can get a few different CZs that are made in the Czech Republic and are on roster.

The scorpion as a first hand gun is very strange though...

NOPE! To late but they are making a rifle version.
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

So pretty much only LEO or out of state then? She was looking at one of the various 75's and saw a scorpion sbr. Figured a scorpian pistol would be an easy way to get her foot into door of NFA stuffs when we move next year. And by that I mean I buy her a tax stamp and use it as a reason for my tax stamp.

You can always get a rifle and then convert it to a SBR.

From what I can sell with the Scorpion if start with a rifle you only can buy a new hand guard like the one they have on the pistol and a 8.5" barrel to have your SBR. I mean you can get a Scorpion pistol via private party transfer in CA but it's going ot cost you an arm and a leg.

Yup. If you can find one via PPT jump on it - I hear they make great SBR's

Although, if she wants something from CZ, its hard to beat the 75 Tac Sport

Thank you for all the replies. I might look at something on the list until I get stationed out of CA... Unless the carbine starts showing up, I haven't seen them for sale.

There were 2 Scorpions in the Marketplace the other day....not sure if they sold already, though.

If you are moving out of state then you can save a lot of money buying after you move. Those are usually about $800 in a free state but on Calguns people want $1700 - $2000 for them.

The Carbines won't be released till the summer, I already prepaid Audiophil2 for one.

As for the pistols, Audiophil2 can convert a pistol to a rifle for you, or you can spend the $1700-$1800 for a pistol in the marketplace.

I just turned down 30 scorpion pistols. CZ is shipping them with welded trigger groups so they are not as easy to convert. If oyu want a scorpion pistol converted to a carbine it can be done but CZ is sending all guns with welded trigger packs just to get them into the country and then they will ship free unwelded packs to owners once the parts are in stock.

The other hard part is getting the SBR kits. I missed a batch of them by a few minutes yesterday and those were the only ones available to me in months. I counted the 922 parts when I did monkeeboi's conversion and not all parts are needed to be CA legal since some other USA made parts are used for other items on the compliance list.

I would wait for a factory carbine if you are in CA or get a pistol and convert when you are outside CA. I'll be playing with an SBR scorpion later today so I'll get some pics of it. Well worth the stamp and kit. I'll put pics of it against my 9mm AR for comparison.
