I think I may be a little obsessive-compulsive.
I typically buy ammo in boxes of 50 or 100, and 10 round magazines divide nicely into a box of 50 (i.e., Five 10-round magazines = one box of ammo).
If I use 15 or 17 round magazines, they don't divide evenly into a box of ammo, and I either have to have one mag that is not fully loaded, or wind up leaving with a partially full box of ammo.
Yes, I know that I can just fill a larger capacity mag with only 10 rounds, but I like a full mag...
Disclaimer: Just because I prefer 10 rounders, doesn't mean that you shouldn't be allowed to buy normal or high capacity magazines. Also, this doesn't apply to rifles, where, in the case of AR's, for instance, I prefer 20 round mags, since 1 box of ammo=1 fully loaded mag.
