Anyone else here actually like 10 rd mags?

    I think I may be a little obsessive-compulsive.

I typically buy ammo in boxes of 50 or 100, and 10 round magazines divide nicely into a box of 50 (i.e., Five 10-round magazines = one box of ammo).

If I use 15 or 17 round magazines, they don't divide evenly into a box of ammo, and I either have to have one mag that is not fully loaded, or wind up leaving with a partially full box of ammo.

Yes, I know that I can just fill a larger capacity mag with only 10 rounds, but I like a full mag...

Disclaimer: Just because I prefer 10 rounders, doesn't mean that you shouldn't be allowed to buy normal or high capacity magazines. Also, this doesn't apply to rifles, where, in the case of AR's, for instance, I prefer 20 round mags, since 1 box of ammo=1 fully loaded mag.

      No.

Or shoot 150 rounds of ammo @ 10 mags of 15 each.

Or shoot 850 rounds of ammo @ 50 mags of 17 each.

Yes, me. Good to know that I'm not the only one thinking this way lol.

If I had 30 rounders or 20 or 15 rounders, I would pack the mags until the mags equated the complete number of boxes it required. I hate having boxes of ammo with like 15 or 5 rounds left in it. It bothers me. And no, consolidating ammo into one box doesn't cut it lol.

If we were able to have 30 round mags, I'd have to use at least 3 boxes of 20 rounders before I'm satisfied as 20 and 30 equate at 60. It is somewhat an obsession.

We would be asked out if we had to deal with 17 round mags on a Glock since ammo comes in packs of 50 lol.

But good excuse here is that I have to get a lot of mags to deal with this, and more mags never hurt.

Yes. I have recreational OCD which means I enjoy being OCD about certain things. For all my 10 round guns, I have 5 mags each just for the reason you stated. I had one mag that wouldn't take 10 rounds as it was supposed to, so I replaced it!

Revolvers are tricky... 6 rounds goes into 150 rounds, but I usually don't shoot that much. So I usually have to fire off a 2 or 4 round cyl.

Another thing that's tricky is rifles where the ammo comes 20 or 30 a box. Should I get 6 mags per rifle? Maybe. Probably.

I promise I am not OCD like this in the rest of my life. Otherwise I would have a problem.

I have the 10/30 tapco mags on my ak, really just for the look, I mean you cant have an ak without a banana clip lmao.

but if im on a long range sitting at a table then I use my Pmag
ten rounders. (the big magazine gets in the way)

so I guess you could say I like the ten rounders. but I wish we had the option of loading up 30

I have a solution for that.
I store my ammo in cases. No little 20 or 50 round boxes laying around.
Just big brown boxes with hundreds in them. Sometimes thousands.

Oh, I don't think these guys could handle all those rounds just laying randomly in a box.

But the tension of wondering how the box will end?! Or do you refill them before they run out? I should probably start doing this, but I also like to keep an inventory of my ammo. Just helps for re-ordering and what not. I weigh bulk boxes to estimate how much I used! No joke...

Exactly! This guy gets it. 22 ammo is hard enough because it mostly comes in bulk!

Well, with 15 rounders it isn't so bad. You load 90 rounds into 6 mags and 10 into a 7th, ten round magazine. With 18 rounders 5 mags also gives you 90. With 30 rounders three mags gives you 90.

So you have 6 15 round mags and 1 10 round mag? Yeah I guess that works. I had a P220 that had 1 10 round mag and two 8 round mags so I bought 3 more 8 round mags to go with it. That satisfied me.
