Huh, on the calguns wiki (from the way back machine because I couldn't get to the real one) it says I'm good to go using standard cap mags in a featureless. I'm not sure how I overlooked this but yay!

Yep. Featureless. Doesn't mean you won't get questioned by people or law enforcement who don't know the law though. And Leo can confiscate them as a nuisance.

Not necessary. The burden of proof is on the other side.

How exactly do you show proof of something that didn't happen?

No one is under any obligation to explain how they came to possess any standard capacity magazines. Thinking that you owe LE a response to that ridiculous question is your first mistake, but to each his own.

Hell, for all they know, you found them abandoned on BLM, a pistol match, at the range, etc.

Proving that you manufactured (assembled) it, or imported it into the state is nearly impossible, period.

Burden of proof that the large capacity magazines are not a nuisance item because they were legally obtain, is on you.

                    Summary:
For criminal charges, they have prove it.
For confiscation as a nuisance item and no criminal charges, you have to prove it isn't.

CANNOT YOU FOLKS READ GOOD? ( Zoolander quote - look it up ).

Question was in a pistol forum.
Question was about Glock normal mag capacities wrt CA law.

Owned magazines if normal capacity, cannot be sold or transferred. Can be sold if modified to 10 round capacity.

The California Penal Code does not mention anything about buying. This is what it says:

"manufactures or causes to be manufactured, imports into the state, keeps for sale, or offers or exposes for sale, or who gives, or lends, any large-capacity magazine"

So, buying is okay? Although, no one can "Sell" it.

I think they amended it last year or two years ago to include buying also.
