Hi! This is my 1st post here! Yipee!
I am currently in AZ. working on a contract,
but will most-likely be back in Cali within the next couple of months.
I bought a Springfield "Ultra Compact" here in AZ.
So when I go-back to Cali, what is the proper procedure required in
Cali? Do I have to declare it somehow?
Also, what is the current waiting period(if any) for purchasing a gun
in Cali? BTW I am LOVING using my AZ. CCW here! I'm gonna miss-it
when I go-back to Cali!

Let's assume the AZ dealer followed all the laws, and the purchase is by an AZ resident. It appears you are moving to California.

Any person who moves into California and who brings any pistol, revolver, or other firearm capable of being concealed upon the person is considered to be a "Personal Handgun Importer" and is required to do one of the following within 60 days:

* Complete and submit a NEW RESIDENT HANDGUN OWNERSHIP REPORT form along with $19.00 to the Department of Justice. A separate report form and $19.00 fee is required for each handgun reported. NEW RESIDENT HANDGUN OWNERSHIP REPORT forms can be obtained from California Department of Motor Vehicles' offices, licensed firearms dealers, local police and sheriff's departments, the California Department of Justice Firearms Division at (916) 263-4887, and from the Online Forms Page at this site.

Also, what is the current waiting period(if any) for purchasing a gun
in Cali?

1 handgun purchase through an FFL every 30 days; 10 day wait from the moment the DROS is submitted until you can pick up the weapon.

If you (the OP) are an AZ resident and you are moving to CA, then you are in a nice position. Yes, you've got to fill out the form when you move in with your out-of-state handguns but you can definitely load up on exotic stuff before you get to CA. And then if you were to decide that you didn't want those exotic guns anymore, you'd have a captive audience interested in your "used" guns.

You've got a few months to compare your wish list to the CA not-unsafe list and then to buy before you get into the PRK.
