    Rebuilding 1911 mags

I have Chip McCormicks and Wilson Combat Mags. Has anybody ever rebuilt the WC mags with CM internals? Outside profile being the same, I'm thinking it might work.

Why? I'm tired of wearing out the polymer follower/slide lock "pusher" thingy on my WC. Won't slide lock after the plastic (sorry, "polymer") wears out. CMs use steel and don't do that.

If not.....WC mags for sale, good deal...needs rebuild kits!!

Sell one and buy more of the other.

Mags aren't made to be forever parts, buy new mags, or spring and follower kits from Wilson. You can probably interchange parts, but if your buying Wilson for the reliability everyone talks about on their mags why compromise?

Funny, this is exactly like a recent thread, but they wanted to rebuild CMC mags with Wilson spring/follower.

I think the followers don't have the exact same geometry.

What about switching to Tripp Cobra mags that have a metal insert to actuate the slide stop?

              Should be no problem.

100% recommend Tripp Cobra Mag rebuild kits.

I get short lifespan with my Wilson Combat mags. It is the springs getting weak long before the follower wears on mine. I like CMC power mags and when they start acting up they get the Tripp internals swapped into them.

                Have a great day
