Looks like they no longer are doing any consignments on Handguns there. The old handgun consignment case is only for LE now. I asked the older gentleman behind the counter why they stopped and he didnt really tell me why. He did add that they still had used guns but a small selection(rented high mileage pistols with no mags). Sucks cuz they really had a good selection on consignment handguns

I was there last wek, they had a nice Remington 40X in 6X47 for $700.00. Unfortunately someone had chopped the stock to make it kid sized.

Anyone know anything about their "Guntracker" form that (I guess) they ask people to fill out when they buy a gun? I saw them all over the place on clipboards there and saw a question or two of "Have you bought a gun in the last 30 days?" sort of thing. What's that for?

its their way of making sure paperwork is done correctly... the handgun question has to deal with the need of a multiple handgun transfer form.

They are pretty anal about their paperwork over there, as they should be. DROS usually takes about 40min or so, and a manager will verify the employee (and customer) did everything correctly.

DROS @ Irvington is about 15-20min. Ask me how I know

Yeah, I'll agree.. Irvington Arms was pretty quick with the paperwork.

---Forgot to add the gentleman directed me to SJGE for consignments. By the looks of the place, been there a couple of times this week the place has been packed figure they dont need a consignment case anymore for the extra revenue. I swear after work this past friday for some happy hour shooting had to wait a while for a lane it was a mad house in there.

If you must use consignment services for your gun, try checking out Bay Area Gun Vault in Mountain View or Irvington Arms in Fremont. They'll be able to take care of your needs without too much trouble.

We don't do consignments. The way I know it's done is that guns are sold to us and we hold them for 30 days, then get released into the used case, or sometimes the LE ONLY case. The LE only case is for out of state purchases via GunsAmerica, or to of course LE. They are guns no longer on the CA approved list.

As for the tracker, Ian got it right. It's so we get paperwork done correctly. When you usually buy a gun, they will ask you the 4 questions, are you crazy, are you a danger to yourself and others, got any restraining orders, etc etc, but instead of asking it verbally, it's written on the tracker. The other stuff asked is so if there are discrepancies, it can be traced to who did it and when it happened.
