If you want to follow the letter of the law, you have 30 days from arrival in this wreched state to download the form from the CA DOJ, pay your 19$ and wait about 4 weeks to receive your letter back in the mail with Kamala Harris's signature. Saying that, who else can really prove exactly when you arrived here, as to when your 30 days starts. Remember, once you register your firearm with CA, you cant unregister it here, unless you sell it private party thru an FFL dealer. Here's a little secret I found out thru a major FFL dealer. If you bring a firearm in to CA and you intent on selling it, do not register it with the CA DOJ. Meet the buyer at the FFL and when you hand it over for the 10 day waiting period, and then it clears in to the buyers name, you are free and clear and saved 19$ and the cost of a stamp from putting it in your name just to put it in the buyers name.
