    Blade tech failure.

So I've started getting into USPSA matches. My second time out was this weekend and second time using my blade tech holster for my g34. I was o my 3rd stage and finished when I noticed that there was only 1 very loose screw holding my holster on. The other 2 had disappeared.

Am I supposed to disassemble and lock tight before use? I'm a little surprised given that so many people run these holsters.

Do I send it back to midway or ask for replacement screws? Its a big safety concern I could have made ready holstered and the holster could have swung down and swept anyone behind me. I finished up using my g19 but I expected more out of the holster.

Maybe you can reach out to blade tech customer service directly.

Just contact Blade-tech and they will get you fixed up. Not a bad idea to have spares to be able to repair/fix issues at matches.

Contact BladeTech. You should ALWAYS check, and thread lock new gear.
They don't generally do this prior to shipping, this allows the user to adjust and set the holster to their preference.

I've made that mistake. Hiked through some thick brush chest deep, ran into a bear, reached for a gun that was no longer there. Just a belt mount where the gun once was.

Call Blade-tech CS and see if they will provide replacement screws and then once you have them where you want, a dab a blue locktite to set them in place.

Also as Hopeton mentions, it always pays to check your gear before a match as well even given the above.

fair enough. im used to kydex holsters so it hasnt been an issue in the past. When i get replacement screws ill be sure to make sure everything is secure.

Even raven concealment provides loctite with their holsters... At lease they did when I ordered from them.

In the past some of the screws on Bladetechs have been impossible to get out. Many people change them up or add a BOSS kit or something else. So it is better to have them loose out of the package IMO. Then set it up the way you want and loctite.

Just get in the habit of checking everything before a match. If it can come loose it will at the worst possible time.

I did. It was on a trail, an overgrown trail, but easily retraced my steps backtracking. It was also a G34. For sure an "oh shat" moment.

Misleading title really should be updated.

Good topic though. People should always remember to thread lock any screws on their gear after getting it dialed in.
