How do you differentiate/mark your magazines?

I want to mark my magazines so I can differentiate them should any have performance issues. I've seen many people number them. What are you using? Paint marker? Something else?

    Other suggestions?

    Thanks!

Adhesive dots covered with clear nail polish so they do not fall off.

If im at the range and a particular mags give me problems, I just pull knife out and mark a little cross on the baseplate.

I'm broke as a joke, and lazy, so I took my knife and scratched 1, 2, 3... into the side. Never pay attention to it anyhow, as all my mags work. It's more so to identify when one does fail (I know it's inevitable), then it won't get confused when I throw it in the range bag or give it to someone else in hopes it works in their gun.

                        I use nail polish too.
Helps to quickly distinguish between wifes and mine (they look similar but don't interchange).
Some have an additional mark for capacity and others with a different mark when I found that when empty they didn't drop free.

I mark the date they were last cleaned and function checked on the side with a marks a lot. If I have one fail, I put a spent casing in it backwards so I won't use it again until I check it over.

Some mags these days are coming with a numbering scheme built in. Wilson mags and P mags for example. Then you just take a center punch and mark them in the appropriate location.

Note, however, that this marks them for your purposes. If you attend, say, a rifle class where there's a good chance there will be a lot of PMags, you're gonna wanna do something more.
