For 2007, both. If the application is started before 1 Jan 2007, just one of them is required.

my personal thought is that we'll be screwed, how many guns are out there that have both.

My thoughts are that for things that require some substantial re-engineering, such as a mag disconnect, we're screwed. Chamber loaded indicators are easy to "engineer" into anything with an external extractor, and a "Mass hole" is another quick fix. However, a mag disconnect will most likely be what does us in. Mag disconnects are rediculous, anyway.

As long as GLOCK keeps it's stuff on the list, we're ok. I would imagine that they will just re-up the list. They have no plans to introduce any new features for CA GLOCKS as far as I know.

The other thing to be aware of is the fact that LE agencies are not required to use handguns that are on the "approved" list. I"ve heard several people say that Glock, SIG or whoever will re-engineer their handguns so they can continue to sell to LE in CA. They do not need to change their guns to sell to LE, LE can buy anything they want.

Probably I'm out of touch here, but I'm not aware of any new Glock models coming down the pike. Newly manufactured copies of a design already on the list are covered simply by Glock paying the fee to keep that model on the list. I.E. if you want to buy a Glock 17, it will be legal to sell in CA until Glock stops paying the fee or the laws change again.

Or, they can reinforce the idea that gun manufacturers really like the safe pistol list. For all you know, they could take off all but one of their glocks and start gouging the crap out of that particular model and convince the other companies to create a cartel so they can keep prices high. Of course the government won't do anything about it because they will like handguns being out of reach out of the common citizen.
