There's also the Browning Hi Power if you want a singl action 9mm. But price has gone up since I bought mine in early 2000.

I have Springfield target 9mm and cz sp01. Both are stocks. They are both excellent.

However if this is your range gun only. I will vote for Springfield target. 1911 trigger is more easy to mod. Target has better sights.

This is my mileage, not necessary yours... The Springfield is more at PAR with my Elite Match. SP01 is more comparable to my beretta Vertec.

Yes - they're about $950 when Turner's has them on sale.

I have both and my 1911 9mm is a better shooter. Ergos goes the CZ. I do have a G17 and love to shoot that as well.

I can't tell by your post if you are wanting to compete, but if you think you may in the future, do yourself a favor and check out the CZ Tactical Sport.

For less than what you would pay for a high-end 1911, you get a pistol that is competition-ready right out of the box - weighted perfectly, competition trigger, proven performer, etc.

My STI Edge 9mm is my go-to gat for multi-gun and steel.

A 9mm 1911 is great for single stack minor USPSA matches.

Here is me shooting some steel with my 9mm Edge. Watch how flat shooting it is

                  First choice: CZ Shadow Custom
                  2nd: CZ TS
                  3rd: CZ SP-01
                  4th: 1911 9mm
                  5th: CZ 75B

Actually my ultimate choice would be Sig-X5

I am with this guy. For close to a year I drove the people who operate a local gun range crazy with my search for a real fine nine semi-auto. I tried out way too many models but it came down to the Sig X-5 and the CZ TS. I bought the CZ and like it better every time I shoot it. I have put about 1200 rounds through it with no drama. Worth a look and a try out.

Get the tac sport. All of my freinds who have shot mine, purchased their own

                        Guilty. Thanks Static.

If the TS fits your hand and you're looking to add a 9mm it's tough to find a better gun for the money.

If you are used to a 1911's trigger, everthing else except the custom CZs, read expensive and hard to get, will feel like junk. So how much do you want to spend?
Kimber target 9mm sells for under $1k and it is an absolutely great gun. I'd even take this over a CZ TS which is on roster for around $1200 but heavy and ugly.

CZ 75 SA with some upgrades or the Tac Sport.

This man knows his guns. That's basically what I would have listed but I would also slip a Tanfoglio Witness Elite Match, Stock 2, Stock 3 or Limited in there.

For on Roster guns, number 2-5 is the way to go.
