Good 9mm HD ammo?

Looking for some good 9mm HD ammo. I've been practicing with the cheap stuff. Now I need to invest in some high quality stuff for HD. Any suggestions?

pick your bullet weight.

then practice with that ammo. a good box or so.

then keep a box or 2 for HD.

recycle each box every 6 months to a year depending where you keep your firearm...

Federal hydrashocks are what i use. 147 gr. I had a ND with one a few months back and they do what they are designed to do. hit HARD and mushroom. My desk has a massive hole in it from the round.

i use federal hydrashocks in almost everything. i use the 124 grainers in my sig p226 and have never had a prob.

Can't go wrong with Speer GDHP 9mm 124gr +p load, it works well. It's what I carry. Defensive 9mm loads used to be kind of anemic but they've really come a long way.

Most police agencies including some largest agencies in LA county use Winchester SXT 147 gr subsonic rounds and it does a good job.

Lots of people recommend the Corbon 115gr +P or Federal 9BPLE +P+. Either one. The Corbon might be easier to get. Both are 115 grain. Also check the latest Winchester +P and +P+ loads.

I agree with the Speer Gold Dot 124gr +p, that's what I use.

Instead of the Federal Hydrashoks, look into the Federal HST instead

Remington Golden Saber and Winchester Ranger are also very effective.

The Marshall and Sanow "data" is just random numbers with no statistical or scientific value whatsoever. They are so far from any standardized method seen in any modern scienfic method it is scary. Be careful looking at their bogus research as it is just a random collection of data done in a way that no one with even a halfway decent reputation in any scientific background would vouch for as being valid.

With that said, I would try ammunitiontogo.com as they have a very good selection of HPs in 9mm. They sell duty ammo normally only sold to law enforcement agencies at a good price and in 50 round boxes which are probably cheaper than what you would find a box of 20 for at a local gun store.
