Black Talon use

I can use black talons? I've read both answers but I have a couple boxes of 9mm (and 40) and I want to shoot it, and carry it in my edc if I can

Sure not is SF, but there are more effective rounds in production now than Black Talon's, A lot of the mystique around those was marketing, shinny nickle cases, scary black bullet's, not much special that other rounds are capable of doing.

Of course some of that marketing failed miserably for Winchester so badly they didn't last too long in the market, and that kind of makes them a novelty that some collector type's pay for, but it's a smaller market.

So use em if you've got them, no reason not to unless your in SF, then shoot them at a range.

Since SF is a concern, instead of using the original black talons, jut get some Winchester Ranger SXT which is the same bullet minus the moly lube and the tips of the petals are slightly rounded to avoid the bad press. Personally, I'd hold on to the Black Talons as they have a bit of collector's value nowadays.

Black Talons haven't been made in many years. Anything you have is VERY old stock. Shoot it, but don't rely on it for personal defense.

The Winchester "Ranger SX-T" replaced the Black Talon series. SX-T = Super Expansion Talon. Simple name change and cosmetic appearance, but basically the same round due to negative publicity. The current version is simply the "Ranger T-Series" RA9T. It is 147 grains of fun.

If you buy my LC9 in the marketplace, I'll throw in a box.

I sold some boxes a few years back for $55 a box. I kept some just because, but there are better options out there for a carry gun.
