    Changing an handgun caliber permanently?

    Hi,
I'm about to install a 9mm slide, barrell and mags on my Beretta 96, which is originally born as .40 caliber.
I intend to sell the .40 slide, barrell and mags and keep this gun permanently as a 9mm (need the $)
Is it something legally ok to do?
If I decide to sell the gun one day, that frame's serial # would be for a Beretta .40 but the gun would indeed be a 9mm..I would abviously disclose that to the eventual buyer, but when it comes time to sell a "bastard" like that, what does the law says?
    Thanks in advance.

Go ahead. No legal issues involved at all.

It might affect its resale value a touch. However legally speaking, this is a non issue.
      AND
Popularly... A 9mm is still easier to sell than a 40, so it'll most likely balance out.

          Thanks for the replies.
.40Cal just consolidating all my firearms to 9mm, that's all.

Picked a slide, barrell and 2 mags for $350. I intend to sell the .40 parts for the same amount.
