I've always been a Colt snob when it comes to 1911's, but I've really started liking the look and feel of Sig 1911's. For those of you that own them, which ones would you recommend? How are the XO's? I thought I had read that they had issues in the past but am unsure.

Sig 1911's

I have an XO and a stainless rail. Both have been 100%. They are good value for the money.
A couple of points:
- All Sig 1911's are series 80
- All have an external extractor
- The non traditional models have a slide design that mimics the P series guns so getting a holster to fit may be a problem.
Overall they are pretty good. The original models were kits provided to Sig by Caspian and they had issues. Those issues are long gone.
You do get some extras like a checkered front strap and a match barrel as standard.WTB: Sig P245 or P220 Compact

I have standard traditional 1911's from various makers including sig. I have the Nitron railed version that i run a CT on.
I like the sig 1911 because it's not a true traditional looking 1911. More of a modernized 1911 if you will. I give props to Sig for breaking out of the mold and putting there own twist on the 1911.
I definitely would and will pick up an additional model 1911 sig in the future.Comment

I owned a Scorpion 1911 Carry for a little over a year. Very nice and reliable pistol with a lot of features for the price. I just never warmed up to it, not sure why. Maybe it's the square slide, or the external extractor, or the magwell/grip combo. I sold it and the new owner loves it, so it's definitely a personal preference.Comment
