    G22 vs. G21SF

I was browsing the local classifieds this morning, and came across a guy wanting to trade a Glock 21SF for a Glock 22. I'm a .45 guy, and have several .45's but just the one .40 so I've often thought it'd be nice to make such a trade in order to keep less ammo on hand.

I wrote the guy, and he told me his 21SF has a 3.5LB trigger, night sights, talon grips, an extended slide release, and some other add-ons. My 22 has nothing. The guy is willing to drive over an hour and make the trade, straight across.

Needless to say, I'm pretty excited about the upgrade. Has anyone else made this transition? Will a regular G21 holster fit a G21SF? How about the magazine holder?

The g21 holster should work for the g21sf because the only difference is in the frame. In particular the grip.

The holster and mag carriers are the same for the 21 and 21sf. I'd make the trade if it were me.

I wouldn't pass up the opportunity to own a 21sf. I have one and it's an awesome gun and fits my hand super well. I can shoot that thing all day long.

I feel like I'm getting a heck of a deal here. I wonder why the guy would want a run of the mill G22 so badly?

I would do the trade, as in 21SF -to-> 22.

Major reason, the 22 is a much more comfortable grips (at least for me).
Other reason, the .40 is still cheaper than .45 & .40 can go 9mm, so shot per round will more per dollar.

Seems like you two are making a good trade.

Smaller grip. Plus maybe he likes the .40 S&W. If he doesn't hesitate about driving a couple of hours. I would hesitate about his over enthusiasm though.

I would make that trade anytime anywhere, though I do have a G19 & G34, I prefer the large SF frame Glocks.

It is funny, I always prefer the feel of a smaller grip (much prefer the feel of my G34/35, over my G20/21SF. The irony is day in, day out, I shoot the larger grip guns more accurately.

It was the same with my Beretta, I always hated the feel of the 92FS grip, but was better with it accuracy wise than any smaller grip 9mm gun, even my 1911's.

Sorry to the OP for the hijack.

FWIW, my G21SF is my favorite Glock.

Have you seen pictures of his gun? I would tell him the trade is pending inspection.

                      G20SF is mine - I don't own any .45ACP Glocks only 9s & 10s

Made the deal this afternoon. Wow! Can't wait to shoot the new Glock. I really feel like I came out ahead here, and he was stoked with his new .40 too. I threw in all of my .40 ammo and paid his fees for good measure.

Any Glock is a good trade.
