It is the sweetest shooter I own, amongst my 4 Sig226 I own. I wouldn't sell it for a new one
This is the nicest of the 3 SIGs I have owned. When I test shot it my buddy John took a couple of shots (probably 5 or 6) through it and wondered why he had ever sold his old P226. He sold his HK VP9, which he had really wanted but the trigger pinched his finger so he hated shooting it, and went through a couple of pistols including an Arsenal Strike One, before just going back to a SIG P229 Legion.

I bought this gun on a whim, I had been missing the POS P228 I had which was beat to hell but still shot very well, and this gun came up. Even though I like it I never shoot it, I am always shooting the HK P30 or Steyr M9-A1 when I want to shoot something other than a Glock or M&P
Fear is the spare change that will keep you broke

Call him run-like-hell-when-shtf-guy or dial-911-guy but NEVER call an unarmed man "Security".

Try SigTalk. P226's go for $600-750 or even less. The $1k price point is reserved for near new with all original items and more so when it is the W. German variant. You likely won't be getting that much.

I'll mirror Bobby that you need to provide many more detailed photos and as much history as you can.

I assign inflated values to all of my firearms, thus creating an impressive portfolio of pseudo-wealth that I possess. To actually liquidate them for their true market value would result in a wretched sort of bread line soup kitchen poverty that I am just not psychologically ready for.

Ah, BR, knowing you, your safe is full of prized goodies from the olden days. You just keep them safe as a pseudo historical firearms museum, although SVT may have you beaten in the SAFN/FN49 realm.

$900 and it should sell here in a week or two if you are in socal. Outside of this state, I would expect a little less.

Sig service package $144.99, and they even install new night sights.

A 1992 P226 is most likely stamped with W. Germany on the slide. That grip is not original for that year.

Most important question is do you have the box, manual, and test target for that gun? Those 3 things will add value far more than the nebulous "low round count."

I do have the original grips but not the box. manual or target (wish I did).

Pretty sure I am just going to keep it in the German Section of the collection.

I haven't browsed Sigforum for a while so I am not up to the value of a 92 P226 in free states.

I wouldn't part with it. If anything, you can use it as a shooter. It's a classic.
