Glock 34 cycling 115 grain ammo. Issues?

I own plenty of Glocks and have NEVER had a misfire in thousands and thousands of rounds.

I have had numerous people (who work at gun stores) tell me that the Glock 34 will not cycle 115 grain ammo reliably and they say it needs a round that is a little hotter to cycle the slide all the way.

One guy says that I could expect a misfire every 100 rounds or so because the 115 grain ammo doesn't have enough power to cycle the slide every time.

I guess this makes sense to me, but I am wondering how much of an issue this really is and what your guys' experience has been with shooting 115 grain ammo through a Glock 34.

I want a Glock 34 but would be annoyed if I couldn't go out and buy a bunch of cheap ammo from Walmart. (I don't reload and don't plan on reloading anytime soon)

Buy the G34 if you want it. You'll be fine and the gun will run fine. I have two.

Do not listen the the people from the gun store. The 34 slide has a big piece cut out from the slide to reduce the mass. Buy it.

I'll keep letting the responses roll in, but I think this is enough to allow me to feel confident in proceeding with the purchase.

One guy I talked to uses his for competition. Maybe he was hand loading and shooting 115 grain with less powder to get less recoil and maybe thats what he was referring to when he would get misfires every 100 rounds or so..

What nimbus said. Do not listen to the gun shop couter guy. He is only qualified to consult for the Seal Team not the general public.
My G34 shoots anything marked 9mm.

I've shot thousands of rounds through my G34's in practice, classes and matches and they both have reliably shot anything I've put through them of various bullet weights, 115, 124 & 147grs.

I run my g34 almost exclusively with 115s loaded to just qualify for minor. Stock recoil spring and ghost trigger kit. Havent had one issue that wasnt reload related (high primers mostly) in 1000s of rounds.
Damn gun store ninjas with their hipster beards spreading crap.

For those of you guys cycling a g34 reliaby, do you have gen 4 with the dual coil recoil spring?

I would want to avoid completely wimpy ammo for the first 500 rounds or so but other than that, no worries. So I'd say Federal 115s = 100%. Miwall reloads... maybe not.

Bullet weight does not tell the whole story. Look at velocity as well.
