    Para Ord Finish Problems?

I just bought a LTC in .45 w/ an Alloy frame. Always wanted one and was saving for a Kimber CDP when I found a good deal on this. Guy said he bought it in April '08. The bottom of the slide (almost to the end near the barrel) only on one side and only about 1 1/2" the finish is worn off. And no it's not holster wear. He said when he bought it the dealer had 2 others with the same wear and got a "good price" on it. As the 2nd owner, I realize I'm not privey to the lifetime warranty but has anyone else had this? What was your solution? Back yard blueing? or did you send it out to a place that does finishing or plating? I like the flat black finish on my Kimber but am not too well versed. Any suggestions? or just shoot the darn thing and don't worry about it? I'm in So Cal so that might limit my choices.

Shoot the darn thing and wait til there is more wear before you decide to finish it up.

CCR and Customized Creations offer low cost slide refinishing. You can check them out on Sig Forum but CCR also posts in our classifieds in the commercial deals section.

Great- thanks- I guess I'm getting a little ahead of myself. I should probably shoot it first. Brownells also has some bake on stuff I might look at for a temporary fix.
