    Kimber 1911 Compact + 8rd mag question

I was looking at the Wilson combat 8 rd mags for my Kimber. I understand these will protrude out of the mag well a bit but I am unable to find a picture to see how much it would protrude. I was also reading about reload malfunctions...the mag being pushed too far into the magwell causing FTF issues is this true? Hangun in question is a Kimber CDP compact 2.

Just curious if anyone has any pictures of their 1911 compact with an 8 rd mag installed? Also wanted to know if anyone has any opinions/solutions for the FTF issue I stated above. I have been to a couple shops in my area and nobody has the magazine I need. I would need to order online and I would hate to buy something I cant use.

Thanks for the help. Will check back periodically.

The Wilson 8 round mag for the compact is a standard/full size magazine with a baseplate that goes up on the front of the magazine to prevent the over insertion problem. It will pretty much look like any standard/full size magazine sticking out of the bottom. I believe the only difference between that specific Wilson magazine and a regular 47D is the baseplate.

For all those people who find it more convenient to bother you with their question rather than to Google it for themselves.

Per the sticky note on magazines, are the mags that Kimber currently ships with it's 9mm and .45 alloy Ultras and Compacts safe to shoot without damaging the guns or does one still have to toss em? Thanks, Dennis
