    .22LR Revolver Suggestions

My dad loves shooting .22LR and he's been high on finding a revolver for the range the last couple months. His birthday is coming up so I wanted to research picking one out for him. I have literally ZERO experience with .22LR revolvers. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've been researching a Ruger SP101 but I'd love some other suggestions.

For the range Ruger single six or a s&w kit gun (sorry, don't know the model number), for coolness, a ruger bearcat

Well, I do have a bearcat, and they are very purty and shiny. It's a little expensive, but hey, these are good quality revolvers that once your dad is tired of, he could probably hand down to you.

Love my S&W 617. Full sized K-frame, ideal for range gun. Probably the highest priced option. Also think it's the best option.

I bought one for my son a few years ago for his 12th bday. Or at least that's what I told him Man that is one fun little gun. I love it.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

+ 1 on this ^ especially a pre-lock version (even more expensive). Amazing revolvers.

If you can find one used, the h&r sportsman 999 is an awesome shooter.

                  617 is full sized.

SP101 grips are for smaller hands.

                  Put hands on both.

Single Ten is nice if you like Single Action.

I'll come by to pick it up for free, no charge for my gas and I'll even pay the DROS.
Would not want you to strain yourself.

                      Nice.

How's the grip size? Do you find it to be big enough to be comfortable? I tried a bird's head and the grip/trigger was a little too cramped.

                            What about: http://www.riflegear.com/p-4464-sw-6...-ss-8rd-3.aspx

There's something about a Single Six, though...

Rugar SP101 is a solid choice. Can't go wrong with any of the other suggestions.

Don't forget you can shoot .22 short.
