Winning a fight with a Handgun, unorthodox positions, ammo selection- and more.

The Unstoppable Jared Reston- so far this has been the best view into the incident that occurred in 2008.
This is Jared going over exactly what he experienced.

A lot to take away from this. Jared fought one-handed from his back and from his knees, most people don't familiarize themselves with positions like this,
or simply don't attempt to. Despite using a JHP defensive load, upon autopsy, what looked like a good placement on the outside, didn't on the inside.

Jared survives several hits (including his face) of 230gr. ball from a .45ACP. He recovered quickly and went back to work.

Overall- Mindset and Training. Pretty good watch if you have the time. I watched this stream live and it was 3hrs long and worth every minute-
this segment is roughly 30min. but you get the story withing the first 15min. Good stuff.

    Good stuff.

A person also has to come to a decision on what amount of training he wants and needs.

The guy was high risk being LEO. I wouldn't consider half assign training and prep.

Home defense, I'm ok with basic fire arms training, range time and occasional (every few years) classes.

Absolutely. Consider though the lack of training his opponent had, and the damage he was still able to inflict. Both continued to fight with multiple gunshot wounds. Just amazing.

Wow, there's some good information to be filtered out of that. These are the interviews I have been looking for online. I've been finding them, but few and far between. Thank you for posting this. I had not seen it yet.

My close friends father was ambushed by assasins sent by a business partner.

He was getting out of his car when a guy walked up and shot him in the face. It went into his left cheek, exited the right, took out most of his teeth. He scrambled out of the passenger door, grabbed his gun, and was hit 6-7 more times in the torso, from the back, and the legs with what I recall as 45 acps.

He did not return fire effectively. Security guards came and sent the assasins away. He lived.

He has a great sense of humor. The image below is one of his titty bars. Check out the name.

Mindset and determination to win the fight and live is the key. Some folks act differently due to fear of death. Some people pass out when they see blood even when it's not theirs. Some their fierceness elevates even more when an opponent draws first blood.

                    Interesting story.
IMO a key component that can effect the outcome of a deadly encounter is luck.
Luck or fate or whatever you wanna call it. It is always the mystery component that can't be measured, built, loaded or trained in, but it always seems to be a factor.
This guy was very lucky (and stubborn).
                    Good combo.

Wow!!! I thought I might just watch the first few minutes, but that was outstanding - and well worth the time! This is another OMF'ingGod! story. Great work, training and life ethics, from Jared, too. Yeah, keep on 'em until they're down and no longer a threat. Holy BeGeezus.
