I decided I wanted a S&W revolver re-blued. Went to a place in Orange County to drop it off and was quoted 30 days. Thus started an eight month adventure and even now I'm not completely satisfied with the job. I think the sad fact is there are very few truly skilled professional gun re-finishers left. I wish you luck.If you buy anything because it has "tactical" or "operator" in the name, we probably don't run in the same circles. -
Trijicon HD sights are sold out everyplace atm so they are prolly not lying about that. I have had custom work / smithing and refinishing done on several guns and only one time did the finisher meet the estimated time , all the rest were substantially longer , part of the industry i learned .Comment

Why rush perfection. I have never had a gun refinished but I sent a bunch of vintage auto chrome back east for a redo. Took a while but worth it.
You can not rush perfect.Only slaves don't need guns

We already have the only reasonable Gun Control we need, It's called the Second Amendment and it's the government it controls.

I sent a gun to a place for refinishing after checking out their work and reviews. Most reviews were good with a few complaining of no communication after they got their money.
My pistol was received and signed by an employee we will call "Kate". Kate runs the front office and handles the emails, phones and advertising with forum posts. Kate signed for the gun December 1.
On Jan 14, I sent Kate an email asking about the status of my pistol. Kate responded on the 16th saying the gun will ship out in 2-3 weeks as they are waiting for some Trijicon HD's I ordered to arrive from their vendor.
On Feb 8, I emailed Kate again asking about the gun. Her response again was 2 weeks, still waiting on the sights.
Today I sent an email requesting photos of my pistol to see if it's even done and to ship it back ASAP with whatever night sights they have in stock.
If the response back is 2-3 weeks how should I proceed and should I publicly name the company?
I had a similar experience with CCR Refinishinh. I was quoted 10 days turn around for my glock slide. Took almost three months to get my slide back after a dozen emails.Any gun owner who does not support the NRA is a freeloader.
