    I impulse bought a G30 Gen4...

Anybody got any words of wisdom, pictures, etc while I wait to pick it up? I own a lot of Glocks, but this is my first Gen4 .45 compact. I really started digging the Gen 4 but with only enough time to pick up a 17, 20 and 21 before SSE ended for semi-autos. Looking forward to shooting some major sub with it.

Heck, half the appeal is that the State of California doesn't think it's safe and should be in my hands.

Im looking to find one in gen 3. Its supposed to be a very versatile platform to convert to other rounds the list is pretty long but a quick google will show what people have done with it including most common rounds and others like 460 rowland and 10mm. Plenty of potential if it fits right.

Good pick.....the G30 is a very accurate pistol.

Mine runs 100% and I wouldn't part with it.

Love mine. Check the rear sight when you get it. Look for dashes on the side of the rear sight. I was not ready for mine shooting high, requiring a 6 o'clock hold.

You may already know this, so sorry for stating the obvious, but... long dash is point of aim, short dashes are point of impact.

According to Glock: "Every change of the rear sight height will result in a shift of the predicted position of approximately 50mm (1.97in.) over 25m (27yds.) firing distance."

But I was hitting about 2" (or maybe it was 1") high with the 6.9mm at 7 yards. Going to 6.5mm brought me back into the hold I am used to.

Check out the GAP Floorplates with the 9-round flush magazines (which are apparently discontinued, might take some hunting to find?).

I got a gen. 3, G30 SF. No complaints here. However, fully loaded the thing is a brick and you shouldn't have any trouble beating someone to death with it if you needed to.

My [Gen 3] Glock 30sf is among the most accurate 45 acp hanguns I've owned, .. . and a very soft shooter, to boot.

I just put it up for sale on another forum...

I've had my 30 since 2001, or so, and have never had an issue. Soft shooting, very accurate .45. Congrats!
