    Locked Up a SP-01

Jonesing for a 92 FS Vertec, but since none were available I took the opportunity to put a CZ 75 SP 01 in jail. I find it's not the most left-hand friendly weapon but with a little training it should be easy enough to master. The design is beautiful but utilitarian, there is nothing superfluous about it. It seems under-manufactured compared to many mainstream brands. The frame and slide are covered in grease which I imagine helped on the trip from Czechoslovakia. I picked it up at MB Retting for $680, which is the MSRP. Doug, the employee who wrote it up, informs me there are about a dozen SP 01s left.
It wasn't an impulse buy. I've read quite a lot about the SP01 before and it was, in fact, my second choice. I would welcome any advice on cleaning, maintenance, or useful modifications. Thanks!

I hate to burst your bubble, but the U.S. models are made in Kansas. Either way, congrats. I've wanted one for a while, but my next CZ will be a 97B.

Parts are imported from the Czech Republic, but final assembly, including any stamping or finishing, is done in the U.S. of A. This has been done for quite a few years now.

Just traded an sp01 for a 97b with a fellow calgunner. Have owned two now, but have yet to shoot them, i have shot the sp01 before, and hope to get another down the road, next time for keeps.

Yet another SP-01 unboxing photo, so ubiquitous now that they all resemble each other. After lots of reading and window shopping I'm not going to mod it yet. I want to feel the stock configuration first. Why is it so hard to score 10 round Mecgar or stock mags? Can anyone suggest a good (lefty) holster?
