Can a Walther P99 AS 40S&W be switched to 9mm via a conversion barrel and an appropriate magazine..?

Most 40 caliber pistols can be converted to 9 MM with a conversion "IF" a conversion barrel is available. You cannot go from 9 MM to 40 Cal because the cut out in the breech face for 9 MM is too small for the 40 Cal in most pistols.
Good luck finding one for the Walther P99 though. Jarvis made one years ago but I have not seen any recent conversion barrels being made.
It doe not matter what action type you have (AS, PPQ, double action only DOA) as the barrels are all same.
