    Bill Davis 38 special

I have never owned a revolver that feels and shoots like this one. It was custom built for a guy in Martinez by Bill Davis, many of you know his work. I just happened to be in a shop when it came in so I snatched it up before anyone else could.

The front sight adjusts for 15, 25 and 50 yards. The trigger is so smooth that in single action you just have to think about pulling the trigger and it goes

    I am pleased indeed.

Good custom work is not cheap so I can see that revolver going for that much. Not my thing at that price though. It is a specialty item, really set up for a PPC shooter.

              Looks awesome!

So is the front sight on a ramp, and as you slide it back it lowers the height of the FS?

Did they include info for the sweet spot on velocity and weight for the bullet to match the sighting?
If it was a snake, it would have bit me.

Yes the front sight is on a ramp. There is a button on both sides that you grasp and slide.

                As for the sweet spot.

I was going to give the gun to you to figure that out for me.

I was going to work up a load, but since you volunteered.

I let one of these get away about 8 years ago, I did not have the 1200 he wanted at the time. I regretted it right away. I love wheel guns and especially accurate ones. I could not have that happen again.

50 yards and closer there isn't a good reason to use SA. Get yourself some snap caps and practice dry firing it DA. When firing DA you'll feel it when the springs etc. start to stack up and a little more pressure on the trigger and it will fire.

My Bill Davis custom is built on a model 19 frame it was good enough to get me into the Grand Master class. But even shooting a 599/ 54X I got beat by someone shooting a 600 that day.

                        Bill Davis Custom Model 101

I have a 38. revolver made by Smith and Wesson with the aristocrat target shooting sight (7,25,50). When you open the 6 cylinder flute it has the following (MOD 10-1/MOD 101) it has a serial number 56XXX and it is stamped J-1. The revolver has some cosmetic wear from being placed in a holster and some cosmetic wear on the out side of the cylinder from spinning the cylinder and powder residue. The grips are made of black plastic and made by monogrip hogue. The front part of the trigger guard is custom removed for competition shooting.

This is a Bill Davis Custom Model and on the barrel it has Castleberry arms engraved on it.

I am looking to sell this revolver for $2000.00. I hope it will find a home!

Bill and my Dad were good friends, and built all of Dad's PPC guns. I even have a couple of Bill's hybrid guns (a Cougar and a Rattler) that have his full combat trigger jobs. Smoooooth!

He even built me a Christmas gift of a S&W Model 34 mated to a Colt Woodsman heavy match barrel. Awesome rimfire revolver...until it was stolen in an break-in.
My friends and family disavow all knowledge of my existence, let alone my opinions.

Ohh Ivan, that's a sweet wheel gun.

I've had a Davis built model 10 similar to yours for years, great shooter.
