    Robar NP3 and night sights

I just picked up a G22 and love it. What does the group think about Robar's NP3 treatment. What are your thoughts on night sites. Aw WTH, add your opinion about rail mounted lights/laser too!

I have night sights on my P226. Havent needed them yet but if I ever do Ill be glad I had them! lol. My friend has a P99 with a laser mounted on the rail, has a hard time keeping it sighted but it seems to work fairly well. Also, FWIW after about 50 rounds the gun powder gets all over the laser and makes it too dim to see. He has to constanly clean the front of it

Man, you are going to open the whole can of worms

NP3 is a very durable finish and Robar has an outstanding reputation. If you're thinking that your G22 needs it, you should know that the slide and barrel are Tenifer (an iron-nitride process) plated and then Parkerized over that. I've never seen a Glock with any measurable amount of corrosion on any surface (and I've done annual checks on a substantial number!) and so wouldn't do that (NP3) to my Glock.

Night sights? Love 'em. Don't consider any combat/defense/"social purposes" weapon complete without 'em.

Rail mounted lights/lasers - here's where you'll get your ear filled. I can only say that the only weapons I have lights on are my house pistol (G22) and my primary rifle (Colt AR15 SP1). When you need 'em, you need 'em, but they can make life difficult, especially finding holsters for pistols with mounted lights. Lasers? Cute toys unless you only operate at night or indoors. Almost all lasers (some very pricey ones excepted) wash out in sunlight further away than 5 yards - less in bright sunlight or if the target is wearing dark colors.

      Just my .02

I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!
