Glock 43 Magazine Issue - Recall / Replacement

    Hi

I didn't see anything on the net or here about it so I thought I'd post it. (GlockTalk briefs it in a thread but there is no post on this)

The first edition 43 mags (33388) can have an issue with the body transitions and cause insertion problems. Glock fixed the mold and now have a 33388-01 magazine to replace the first mags.

Some initial users noted to sand the bottom of the mag catch to fix this. I'd rather get the updated mags from Glock for FREE. Outstanding Customer Service!

*Please do not take advantage of this by keeping the old ones or Glock will probably stop offering it*

If you have first edition mags, call Glock Warranty with your SN and ask for the 43 mag update.
They will send you 2 new -01 mags (1 flush and 1 extended floor plate) with a prepaid return label for you to send the old ones back to them.

Hope this can help someone if they are having issues

    Edition. First edition, not "addition."

        Thanks for the heads up.

I bought my G43 in June 2015 and the 2 mags that came with my gun are the old type. The additional mags I bought in October 2015 are the new type. So it sounds like Glock addressed this issue early on.

Still, it's good to hear that they're willing to swap out the old mags for you.

There are some pics on glocktalk showing the change.
Just called Glock regarding the mag release issue posted and discussed on this list. Glock told me THERE IS NO MAG RELEASE ISSUE. He said I should send Glock the magazines and they would replace them. He said it is a mag issue and not a release problem. Anyone aware of this ??? Thanx

Thanks for the link, I missed that one.

There are more changes than the couple pics I saw point out. There's a flat step on the sides where it goes from the strait body to the angle near the top of the mag. The new ones removed that whole area and have a radius blending the angle instead of the step. (the step was a little chewed up on my first mags, I did not have any issues though)

I bought newer mags like you mentioned and saw the difference. That's what got me to looking into it. The old mags did work fine for me but I'm glad to have the updated ones for the future.

Ask for the Warranty Department, I asked about a recall and got sent to the wrong person at first.
