FTE problem

It happened with my trp for the first time. Geco 230gr ammo. It was the last round of 7. The casing pictures attached. Was it limp wrist or ammo?

was it just one FTE on the last round or FTE last round on few mags ? need more info.

It is a trp. The last round of one mag only.

it can be many things,need to shoot more to know,mark your mags keep log of your mags,tipe of ammo,mesure the case,from the pic looks like brass might be to soft,extractor slipped over it.

One thing I forgot to mention. This happened when I did 7+1, say 1 in chamber and full mag. But there was no problem when I did same for another two times.

That is typically caused by the extractor "clocking". I had the exact same issue with my Trophy Match when it was new. You can fix it with an over sized firing pin stop and a little time with a file.

What happens is that the extractor rotates (clocks) and releases the shell early. It happens on the last round because you don't have the pressure of another round under the spent shell to keep it under the extractor hook.

Extraction on a 1911 shouldn't be affected by a weak mag spring. My 1911s will extract without a mag inserted. All my extractors are tuned.

A last round FT-Feed is usually caused by weak mag spring.

Can't tell from that picture. If you push on the extractor near the FPS does it rotate at all?

Maybe it defies logic, but Hickok45 has several videos showing weak mag springs causing last round FTE in a 1911 TRP. He uses ten mags, the only one with the weak spring causes FTE every time on the last round.
