Is there anyone near san jose that can take my frame and refinish it? will duracoat work? also, can they do the dissasembly? i think i could do it but i would rather not bother.

you can see the blue crap in the magwell and that doesnt bother me but its also on the trigger guard and the extreme front of the dust guard(i think its called), its really bad under the slide on the rails, and its just about everywhere else that rubs. it looks like holster wear to me. i bought it as a certified sig and she shoots like a dream. i just want to have her look as good as she shoots.

it came like that. its what lies under the matte finish. i imagined it was some sort of coating to help the matte stuff stick. thats the crap im talking about.

Maybe if it's the same finishing process as the earlier CPOs, you can just scratch it all off with your nail.

Uh wow, I have a W german 226 but thank god the finish still hold, that looks like an alien pee all over it. I remember there was a thread some gun post about he refinish his p6 from a company in CA. I just try search, but the think sucks, both "sig" or "p6" came out Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms. . well maybe someone else can help you out good luck.

Don't use Duracoat. It's just expensive paint and will come off around the muzzle and any moving parts. No better than picking up a can of Krylon high-temp paint at Walmart.

Good luck on finding someone to do the work. I've got a gun that I did in Duracoat that I would like refinished also, and no longer have the desire to do it myself. I also live in the Bay Area.

I disagree. Duracoat holds if you don't muck with it while it cures. It can take up to a couple of months for it to harden. Also, blasting the surface that you are coating helps a lot.

I don't baby my guns but Duracoats holds up well to most abuse. My guns don't go in fancy cases. I stick them in a gym bag but nothing has happened to the Duracoat.

You have no business coating your muzzle to start with. Always tape off the bore end before you coat.

Shipping them isn't that bad and DuraCoat is not a paint. With krylon you can not adjust sheen, flexibility, UV properties, texture, flash time or mix custom colors. Don't get me wrong Krylon has it's place for those who understand the difference.

Since you inquired about Duracoat;
Duracoat will work extremely well and yes www.armoryairbrush does the disassembling.
Their also in California 01 FFL so they can ship directly back to you.
