    SW 10-8 value??

My LGS has a SW 10-8 revolver in very good condition, it has bull barrel, wood grips (i think original), firing pin on the hammer and no lock. They are asking $500 + tax firm.

I have no idea about value of this gun, is it worth?

    thanks

In very good condition, the price seems right. Good luck!

It's worth it, if it's in pristine condition.

450-550 depending on condition and a plus for no lock.

I will check again, last night didn't see any blemishes on the gun, except turn line on the cylinder. No box or papers.

these revolvers have any collector value?

Collector value? Not really. Model 10's are plentiful. For that specific gun to have a collector value, it has to be in ANIB condition, with box, papers, tools, etc, and the barrel length being not the standard 4 inches. Actually, even then, it might still not have a collector value.

If you want a fine revolver to shoot and own, get it. It will also likely hold its value. If you want a revolver to appreciate in value as an investment, it is likely not the right one. Find the rare ones, like the Models 16, 696, etc. instead.

What's odd is that your LGS is selling an off-roster gun which, as a dealer, they can't do. If it's a consignment that will be treated as a PPT then why would they charge tax? You are in CA right?
If you buy anything because it has "tactical" or "operator" in the name, we probably don't run in the same circles.

^^^Consignment guns are subject to tax. They are not considered PPT's.

Went back today and put deposit on the gun. Here are couple of pics, pistol is in very good condition; shinny bore, didn't see any scratches, crown is also perfect and locks put tight and perfect. But no box or papers only the gun.

                      Are the grips original?

What do you guys think? is it a good deal?

Looks nice. Lots of model 10's out there but I think you paid a fair price.

I believe those are probably original grips.
