Reliability of SP01?

How reliable are CZ's. I'm in the market for a SP01. It seems more like a range and comp gun. Currently have a couple HK's and haven't had any problems. Just want to know what others have experienced compared to their "go to" gun.

Never had a problem with mine, the finish is pretty bad though IMHO. You can put it down a bit too hard and it would scratch. You literally need to put it down like you're putting down a freaking vase.

That's not case at all with mine. I like it. Not super attached to it like my mk6 though

They're all steel therefore considerably heavier than many pistols especially polymer. What do you want to do with it if not take it to the range? If you want it for hd unless you have qualms with 9mm stopping power it should serve as good our better than anything else. They're built like tanks.

Same here. They are as reliable as a hand gun can be. But I have not had any problems with the finish on mine. I handle all guns carefully (much like a vase) unless if they are used in combat.

Not a single FTF/FTE or other malfunction in mine so far out of almost 400 rounds in three weeks. Trigger stinks though, really needs a decent break in period. I went all out with the Cajun Gun Works Pro Package, installed it myself and conservatively polished the internals. Very well made for 3rd party components and fit was perfect. I wouldn't hesitate on recommending the SP01, but at minimum needs the Cajun Gun works Short Reset System Package and some light polishing to improve the trigger.

Never seen, experienced, or even heard of a failure to feed, fire, or extract from a SP-01 except with Blaser Aluminum cased ammo. Short of that, I would say you are good to go.

Both my SP01 and 75BSA run factory ammo flawlessly. They both have tight chambers though, and are finicky on my personal reloads despite all rounds fitting in a case gauge. Just a FYI in case you reload. You may have to play with the COL a bit.

Have a few thousand rounds (probably 3k or so) through a sp01. You arw good to go. SP01 + CGW = amazing gun for range or hd

I can't compare it, because the SP-01 IS my "Go To" gun.

I have a number of options in my safe to choose from, and the SP-01 is what goes in my nightstand every night when I lay me down to sleep.

It also goes to the range with me every time I go.

I've had it since 2012 and have to experience a malfunction of any kind. I don't shoot a million rounds a month like some lucky Calgunners seem to, but I shoot my guns.

Mine is still stock, but will likely be getting some CGW parts in the near future.

Great gun, you should totally get it. Then get a P-01, then...

There are a few quick mods that i feel are worth while for any out of the box CZ. Polish the feed ramp and reprofile the slide stop. With these mods any hiccups have worked themselves out of my CZs within the break in period (Aprox. 500 rounds).

If you are coming from HK the fit and finish of a steel framed CZ might trow you off a bit.

Ive had 3 CZs and currently have an SP01. They are probably some of the most reliable guns out there. Ive never had any problems. The finish on my CZ is good, the barrel looked a little worn on the outside but thats just how they are sometimes. The trigger is atrocious though, one of the worst out of the box triggers you can find. Makes my M&P9 feel like a PPQ. Its not a dealbreaker though.

I'm not sure how this was experienced. The finish on all CZs, while it looks like cheap thick paint, doesn't wear easily at all. I had one that was holstered a lot, and all that happened was the black paint got really shiny. But it never wore to the metal. The new glock finishes on the other hand get scratched if you look at them wrong.

CZ SP-01 is one of the most reliable firearms that you can own. Took my 2 kids, ages 18 and 21, shooting for the first time and had them shoot a SP-01 and Glock 19. Both had FTF on the Glock but none on the CZ. Apparently you can not limp wrist shooting a G19. CZ SP-01 didn't have any problems.

All the SP-01's i've had were reliable and ran flawlessly as well especially with Federal value packs from Walmart. Heck, my significant other shoots my SP-01 Tactical better me
