    Rebluing a gun

What companies out there offer reasonable pricing to reblue a gun?

I have a 1947 Hi-Standard HD Military with the longer barrel. The gun was improperly stored before it was given to me. I'd like to return it to its former glory. It's a shooter right now and will most likely stay one since it's not a rare unicorn.

Glenrock bluing does first class high quality work. They are the "go to" guys for many of the custom builders nationwide. I recently had them do a S&W model 27 for me. I could not b e more pleased. Shipping a gun is a very simple process. Check out there web site and see what you think.

What, exactly, constitutes a fair price? A target amount would help responders know what you are looking for.

I used Hotflash in Millville and ,ended up with a really nice gun. I was given my Dad's old service weapon after he passed and wanted to make it look as good as new. It was a 1947 Colt Police Special in 38 Special, heavy barrel . It has crown dings, pitting on the back strap and a lot of holster wear.

I did all of the metal work myself and dropped the weapon off at his business. I got to meet him and go over what I wanted.. He had some tools that I did not to get the cylinder apart. he called me in 3 days for pick up.

Very nice job. I did all the assembly work with the only good book on Colt double action revolvers. Built some loads for it and it is a tack driver.

He does a great job. Joe

Apologies, OP. I should have said reasonable price.
