Canik TP9 V2 front sight wiggled off

Hey guys, not sure if anyone has heard this of happening but the front sight on the TP9 V2 is "fixed" and should not be removable however it seems like is just a piece of plastic sitting in an extruson like channel on the slide with no retaining screw. I contacted Century and they said they would send me another front sight because possibly the one I have was too small...is that even possibe?

No biggie. It may happens to any gun regardless of material and brand. A gun may take a lot of banging in transit from MFG until it reaches us end buyers.

It is nice that they send a new one without any hassle.

true but what concerns me is what is going to keep the sight from drifting again? there is no retainment mechanism on the front sight.

You could just stake it in place.

A plastic sight in a dove tail is never gonna be very durable, way too easy to knock them lose. Have you checked to see if anybody makes a metal replacement sight for them.
I'm surprised they changed the sights. I have a couple of the first gen TP-9's, they use a Glock style front sight. I replaced my plastic Canik sights with metal fibor optic's from Dawson Precision.

Very good question. There is no certainty in that. However, you can help it be permanent until you decide to remove/replace it.

Pick up some Super Glue/Crazy Glue "FOR PLASTIC" from your favorite hardware store. About $3 or $4 bucks. Clean/degrease the base of the site and where it goes into with Alcohol a couple of times. Use a drop of glue before you put the site in.

You may want to shop around and see if an after market site catches your eye and get one of those while you are at it.

No problem. You are in a Free State. If you don't feel like hassling with it, return it and pick up something else.

Here, in CA, people will line up and take numbers just for a chance to get into a lottery to buy one of those offered for sale.

If you had high standards you wouldn't've bought a Canik;-)

Reinstalling a front sight is pretty basic, and happens to all sorts of guns.

the sight is easy to get back on the dovetail. the problem is it will just slide off, as theres no resistance.

anyways Century has also said CZ-75 sights are compatible, but idk which ones are, because from what I have seen online, the CZ front sight is pinned on

I replaced my CZ 75B front sights with CZ Custom fiber optic sight, just before it got stolen. It was installed by inserting the sight from front to back of the slide. Not side to side as your picture showed.

After sanding down the bottom of the sight to fit, I had to file a channel at the bottom of the sight for the front sight pin. Originally tried to drill but broke the drill bit instead.
