    EAA Elite Match

I'm picking up an EAA Witness "Elite Match" in 9mm next week - this is the "large frame" Witness. I already have an older small frame in 9mm and 41 AE. I happen to have a 40 S & W slide, frame & barrel off a newer Witness polymer lower.

I know there's alot of interchangeability in the EAA line, does anyone know if the poly "upper" will fit & function on the steel Match frame?

I don't think the poly will fit the Elite Witness Match larger frame. You will love the 9mm EWM. That is one that I will never sell.

The Match I bought comes with a 22 Conversion Kit and I'm assuming since it was used by the previous owner that it fits & functions. The poly is "large frame" also, so I'm hopeful. Regardless, I've been looking for a large frame for a while and will be content. But I'd kind of like the 40 to work too. The EAA site and some on line checking suggests it will, but it would be just my luck ......

I'm sure when they say interchangeable, it would have to be within the same model. So I know you can interchange an Elite Witness Match .40 slide and put it on an Elite Witness Match 9mm frame and it will work perfectly.

If it's a large frame, it technically should fit. I was able to throw my 10mm slide from my wonder finish witness onto my witness elite match in 45, but it wouldn't fit the other way around without some minor fitting

The issue is gonna be with the Match frame, even if it's the same size. Match frames/slides are custom fit (as opposed to the regular Witnesses), so some fitting will be required. Which would affect the fitment of your existing Match slide.

I'd just put it on a regular Witness. I have a 10mm long slide that I wanted to put on my Match, but that wasn't an easy fit, and I decided not to force the matter, and just put it on a regular large frame Witness. That worked out very well

Thanks for the info. The "Match" frame does seem to be the issue, from what I've read elsewhere. That the gun comes with a plain old conversion slide gives me a little hope this can be done. And If a bit of fitting is needed I don't mind. Any fitting will be done to the slide and not the frame.

From what I remember, there is about an 1/8" difference in the length of the slide (poly vs. steel), as measured from the breach to the back of the slide, so it may not function. See the attached
