    Glock 30SF

I recently bought my first Glock based upon the good things so many say about them. What I never heard anybody say is what a terrible trigger they have. That little dodad in the middle of the trigger is sharp and makes shooting the gun a lot uncomfortable. Truly not a fun gun to shoot. Also it cannot digest hard cast bullets as the type of lands and grooves would cause it to possibly blow up. So I had to buy another barrel so I can shoot whatever I want to shoot. The take down pin (aka slide stop) is too small. If one wanted to use as a CCW gun you can't replace either the barrel or the take down pin as no changes can be made to the inside of the gun! Lastly the width of the gun being a double stacked plastic gun is too wide for normal hands. A typical 1911 is way more comfortable to shoot or handle. Now I understand why people prefer the undergraduate calibers like the 9mm in the Glock. Smaller grip.

sounds like you spent a lot of time researching your purchase before buying it.

Not sure where you are, but some IA's don't care if you modify your handgun and some do. My 30SF has a 36 slide, KKM barrel, Tungsten carbide recoil spring assembly, Talon rubber grip tape and an Agency Arms trigger bar. Takes care of all your concerns.

As far as the trigger, it might be the serrations as well. You can replace it with the smooth face trigger of the G21. Sanding the trigger safety to be flush would help as well. It could be flush that you do not feel it.

Just seems the G30 is not for you, just trade in for a G19.

I carry the 30sf but I agree the triggers are funky maybe Glock will figure out how to fix it by gen 8 lol if you want a nice gun check out the Kimber ultra carry
They build very nice guns, I have met some people that say negative things about them but everyone has an opinion, everything I've heard people say never panned out, so I say b.s

The SF grips should be around the same size as a 19 no? Also google 25 cent trigger job, won't improve much but it does reduce a lot of the "wtf is happening when I am trying to get to my wall."

i actually have come to really enjoy the glock triggers and the feel of the reset, especially the ridged triggers (i prefer these to the smooth ones)

You didn't handle it and at least dry-fire it? You didn't get an idea in the LGS if it was too fat for your grip?

Sounds like you might be an undergraduate gun buyer.

I never noticed the trigger safety is uncomfortable, I never feel it all. As far as trigger feel in general you could try a Glock minus connector for $25, or a Zev Race V4, or a TTI Grandmaster connector. Those are the ones I like.

Doesn't most stores not allow you to dryfire? That being said Glocks are by in large the easiest gun to rent at any range. There is never a shortage of Glocks to rent basically anywhere that gun rentals are available.

I don't have large hands and the grip G30SF fit my hand perfectly. It was a nice little pistol and shooting .45 was pretty manageable. I sold mine to fund another project, but I miss how accurate the 30SF was. While the trigger pull wasn't that of a G34, I didn't find it to be terrible. As said above, it's not for everyone.

there are several things i did to my 30sf to make it a more shootable gun. as someone said earlier, change out the ribbed trigger for a smooth one, change out the connector for the minus model, replace the slide release for the extended model, and take an emeryboard to the mag release to make it less sharp.
that being said, it is heavier to carry than a g19 but is very accurate if you do your part.

I have a G30SF and like it a lot. One item that is easily fixed is the slide stop. The factory extended slide stop is visually very minor but functionally it is much improved.

Everything else, other than the width, is standard Glock. That said, its a 10 round compact double-stack .45. Here in CA it owns that niche.

Not quite. The 30SF grips are a bit wider and possibly longer. Glock "fixed" these issues by creating a new caliber - the .45 GAP. .45 GAP frames are the same size as 9mm and .40 S&W.
